An absolute must-do in Koksijde is a visit to the Hoge Blekker, the highest dune on the Flemish coast, with breathtaking views over the West Flanders dunes and sea. In addition, the N retrospective Fisheries Museum is a fascinating introduction to the region's rich fishing tradition, including historic ships and fishing techniques. Both offer a unique insight into Koksijde's nature and culture.

For nature lovers, a day trip in Koksijde is ideal around the Hoge Blekker and nature reserve De Doornpanne. You start at the visitor centre De Doornpanne, where you learn all about nature and water management at the coast. From here, you hike along the nature study trail (3 km) or walk to the 33-metre-high Hoge Blekker dune for a magnificent view of the sea and dunes.
