A place you definitely shouldn't miss is Terhills, the gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park. Here, you can walk along impressive panoramic trails with views over crystal blue lakes and green hills – nearly un-Dutch/Belgian beautiful. The contrast between the old mining heaps and nature makes it unique. There are routes for every level, and you can also cycle or simply enjoy the view. Tip: go around sunset – the light over the water and the hills makes it truly magical.
