Villa Lactea underwent extensive renovations between 2020 and 2023, focusing on sustainability and circular construction and reusing as many materials as possible. From reused wooden floors and doors to furniture with a history, you'll find sustainable details everywhere.
Villa Lactea is located in quiet, natural surroundings in Schilde. Nearby, you will find several beautiful mountain bike routes and hiking trails through vast forests and along green fields. A short drive away is the lovely city of Antwerp, with historic sights, fascinating museums, and a lively atmosphere featuring many restaurants and shops.

Villa Lactea was once called simply Hoeve De Haar. She was built in 1941. Between 2020 and 2023, she was extensively rebuilt and has been a holiday home since 2024. During the renovation, we tried to reuse as many materials as possible to make it something beautiful. Our approach was fairly fanatical, but here and there we made compromises for the sake of price or to keep the layout flexible for future generations. Via illustrations scattered around the house, you can discover the stories of all the building materials
