Forget the busy amusement parks. In Kasterlee, you must seek out the sleeping giant in the Hoge Mouw. While everyone heads to the well-known gnomes, you wander through the quiet dune forest to a giant head, sunken in the sand. It's mysterious and serene. Afterward, rent a kayak for a trip on the Kleine Nete. Glide silently along the banks; nowhere do you feel the Kempen nature is purer. Finish off with a local beer by a hidden forest pond.
