Stadl an der Mur is a small municipality and popular holiday resort in Styria's Murtal region, located at an altitude of about 884 metres on the famous River Mur Cycling Trail. Salzburgerland with the Lungau nature reserve and Carinthia are just around the corner, where you can wander along mountain roads and stop off at the many waterfalls or mountain lakes. Furthermore, a visit to the Turracher Höhe, the idyllic Alm-See plateau, is surely recommended.
Nearby (about 10 minutes by car) is the well-known family ski area Kreischberg, the most modern and snow-sure ski area in the region with 42 km of slopes and 13 cable cars and lifts. Kreischberg has very wide and perfectly well-prepared pistes. This makes carving and snowboarding really fun! Furthermore, this snow-assured area offers a cross-country trail at 1500 metres! For those for whom this is not enough skiing fun, there are the skiing areas of Lachtal, Grebenzen, Katschberg-Aineck and Turracher Höhe nearby. These ski resorts can be reached in about 30 minutes by car.
In summer, the "Freizeitanlage" on the outskirts of Stadl an der Mur 10 walking minutes from the chalet offers a 7,000 m² swimming lake with a separately located paddling pool and spacious sunbathing areas. The holiday region of Murau, also called the 'green heart of Styria', is rightly called Austria's hiking and cycling paradise, here you can enjoy countless kilometres of cycling and hiking routes in spring, summer and autumn. A visit to the therme AQUALUX in Fohnsdorf ensures pure relaxation all year round! The Murau region also offers several golf courses for a relaxing golf holiday, such as the Murau-Kreischberg Golf Club or the Grebenzen Golf Club.
The chalet is about 2 km from the centre of Stadl an der Mur, where there are several shops and restaurants. The town of Murau is about 15 km away and has a beautiful old centre, a great range of shops and a public and indoor swimming pool.
Charging an e-car at the accommodation is not possible and not allowed. Should you nevertheless charge your car illegally, the house owner/manager may, without discussion, hold you responsible for any damage and charge a fine

In the summer months, a steam train runs through the valley. You can raft and canoe on the Mur, climb waterfalls, and test your climbing skills in climbing parks or the surrounding natural area. The area has many mountain lakes, beautiful hiking and cycling routes, and small mountain restaurants. What about a great car or motorbike tour over winding mountain roads and challenging mountain passes? Winter fun in Stadl an der Mur: Here, the "Freizeitanlage" offers ice skating on the natural ice rink and an ice-stock shooting range (Curling). Furthermore, there is, of course, plenty of opportunity for snowball fights, tobogganing down the slopes, or just a lovely walk in a winter paradise transformed by snow!
Visit the Frauenalpe, a diverse local recreation area known all year round as the local mountain of the historic town of Murau. In addition to hiking and biking tours, the 8 km panoramic road along beautiful vantage points is one of the summer tips. As a natural snow mecca, the Frauenalpe casts a spell over ski tourers and snowshoe hikers!
