About this holiday home

In this modern furnished houseboat, you will enjoy a wonderful stay on and near the water. Sleeping under the waterline is special. Many pleasant hours are often spent on the large terrace. You can also hire a BBQ at reception for a warm summer evening by the water! All in all, a unique property for a cosy stay! .

The ark is situated in a park with a marina right on the Uitgeestermeer and about 20 minutes' drive from the beaches of Castricum and Egmond. In the harbour, you will find several catering establishments, bike and boat hire and even a local brewery. Bring your own boat or rent a sloop to discover the surroundings. In the direct surroundings, you will find an outdoor swimming pool, the Hilde House about archaeology of the area, various forts and mills and the cosy centre of Uitgeest, which is also worth a visit. The park is easily accessible via the motorway and Schiphol Airport is close by. Uitgeest is also located between the cities of Alkmaar, Haarlem and Amsterdam. So plenty of opportunities for a wonderful stay with day trips!.

Wir waren mit der Unterkunft und der Lage sehr zufrieden. Im Sommer könnte es innen recht warm werden, aber wir waren im Mai hier und nachts hat man die Wärme gut rausbekommen. Für die kalte Jahreszeit ist die Heizung definitiv kräftig genug.Das Hausboot ist geräumig und gemütlich, es ist alles drin, was man braucht, wir konnten kochen und waschen, die Anbindung per Auto und Bahn ist sehr gut, es gibt Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Spielplätze und Fahrradverleih vor Ort, und tolle Restaurants in näherer Umgebung. Wir können uns vorstellen, es definitiv erneut zu buchen.

Beautiful large houseboat off the beaten track (30 minute walk to next train station). Very clean and comfortable. Expectations for cleaning at checkout too high in my opinion (take off bed sheets, take out all trash, no clean dishes in the dishwasher etc). However highly recommend if you want to spend some quality time with a small group.

At 1 minute walk from the houseboat we have 2 large parking lots.

How far is it to Amsterdam by public transport?

The holiday home is 2.9 km from Uitgeest train station. Trains to Amsterdam Central Station depart regularly from there. Journey time is 30-45 minutes.

Is a fishing licence required?

Fishing is allowed from the terrace of the cottage without a permit. If you take a boat out onto the Alkmaardermeer to fish, you do need a permit. This cannot be bought at reception.

Tip from the homeowner

You will find an outdoor swimming pool, Huis van Hilde on archaeology of the area, several forts and mills, and the cosy centre of Uitgeest is also well worth a visit

Rent a sloop in the harbour and sail from your accommodation to the Zaanse Schans, a nice day trip.
