The village is surrounded by lakes, such as the IJsselmeer and the Fluessenmeer, where you can sail, sail, and fish. Besides water activities, the area offers beautiful cycling and walking routes through nature reserves such as the Gaasterland forest and the IJsselmeer coast. The peace and space make it a perfect destination for a relaxing holiday amidst nature and water. The Kazemattenmuseum is 32 km from Koudum on the Frisian Coast on the A7 (Afsluitdijk), exit 14A Kornwerderzand.
