Numerous hiking and cycling trails start right on the doorstep, leading to the Großer Inselsberg or along the famous Rennsteig. In summer, open-air pools and mountain lakes invite you to swim, while in winter cross-country trails and small ski areas await. Culture lovers can visit the Wartburg in Eisenach, Friedenstein Castle in Gotha or the classical cities of Erfurt and Weimar. Thuringia combines nature, history and culture and our holiday home is right in the middle of it all. In the small village of Fischbach, situated on the edge of the forest at an altitude of approx. 400 metres and at the foot of the Großer Inselsberg (916.5 m), you can start hiking right away. Signposted hiking trails offer wonderful views, but it's not just the views that are breathtaking, the metres in altitude are too. The famous high-altitude hiking trail "Rennsteig" is close by and offers spectacular experiences and challenges. The primeval forest in the Hainich is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the thrill of the "treetop path". The mystical and mysterious Dragon Gorge near Eisenach is a small natural wonder and therefore a real insider tip!
