About this holiday home

It is one of the better houses and has so much authentic charm! It is a lovely, spacious house dating from the 17th century. It has stunning views, is super clean, and is an excellent example of a Périgord country house. Authentic elements, such as the large fireplaces, beamed ceilings, and wooden floors, have been preserved, and the entire interior has been adapted accordingly, but with contemporary comfort. You have a private pool, a large garden, privacy and tranquility, so a perfect holiday!.

The village of Marminiac is small, but Cazals is nearby and has all the facilities, a fine bakery, restaurants, and a cozy market on Sundays. There is also a large lake where you can hire pedal boats and swim. Villefranche du Périgord is an old Bastide with a pretty town square, a good restaurant, several shops, and a covered market. Visit the towns of Domme, which offers stunning views over the Dordogne valley, and, of course, Sarlat, which has its Saturday morning market.

This is an amazing place to stay with a group of 10! A lot of great places to sit and everything necessary for a vacation is provided. Beautiful, big, clean pool and big outside area with pool chairs with cushions. Greatly recommend this accomodation!

Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in dit mooie authentieke vakantiehuis! Ruime tuin met mooi zicht op het huis van onder de walnotenboom, grote keuken om in te kokkerellen, een pool tafel en groot, diep zwembad met opblaas-volleybalnet wat heel leuk was voor de al grotere kinderen! Airco in de slaapkamers was top en wel noodzakelijk met deze warme temperaturen. Een speciaal woord van dank aan onze host Serge, die ons zo geweldig heeft geholpen nadat we pech kregen met onze auto. Un grand merci! En van harte aanbevolen.

We absolutely loved this house — already want to go back! This house is a real Pandora’s box — every room has something beautiful to discover, filled with gorgeous antiques giving it such an authentic French feel. Huge spaces and so much character. Practically it worked brilliantly for us as a family. The ground floor stays cool even in a heatwave, our dogs were completely at home, and the family bedroom (and we believe the other bedrooms too) have air conditioning — absolutely essential during the heat wave we experienced! The pool is immaculate, the garden and plot are a great size with loads of sunbathing spots, and the pool table was a fun bonus in the evenings. Felt private and tucked away, but a U Express supermarket is only 10 minutes’ drive. Plenty of parking too. Tips: bring family board games and basic herbs/spices/salt and pepper — small things but you’ll be glad of them! One of the best holiday houses we’ve stayed in. Highly recommend

Tip from the homeowner

The house is beautifully located on the foothills of the Dordogne Valley, among forests, rugged mountainsides, and lovely countryside. Suppose you take a canoe trip from Cenac. In that case, you will cruise downstream on the Dordogne River, passing the beautiful towns of Beynac-et-Cazenac, le Roque-Gageac, and several imposing castles, including Josephine Baker's castle. At the end of your tour, a bus will take you back to your starting point. A highlight of your holiday!
