About this holiday home

Stay in this luxury gite on the outskirts of charming Carsac Aillac, just 10 km from Sarlat and a short distance from Groléjac and Domme. The village is situated on the main river and overlooks the impressive Dordogne valley. The gite is located on beautiful grounds with a swimming pool shared with the owner. In high season, the owner stays elsewhere, and you can rent the main house and the gite together.

The gite is cozy and tastefully decorated. It has French doors leading to your own private terrace, with a lounge set and BBQ. It fits in perfectly with the surroundings and the overall atmosphere of the complex. The gite is detached from the main house, with its own entrance, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. It also has an indoor jacuzzi and a covered terrace. The studio is only offered out of season, and then you can quietly use the large swimming pool, shared with the owner, with a pool house and plancha. The main house is occupied by the owner out of season but with great respect for your privacy.

Good to know

Charging an e-car at the accommodation is not possible and not allowed. Should you nevertheless charge your car illegally, the house owner/manager may, without discussion, hold you responsible for any damage and charge a fine

This is a lovely, very quiet and private, spacious and secure little place. Pierre was very welcoming, explaining all we needed. Amazing shower in the big bathroom, really good bed and all we needed in the kitchen. The jacuzzi was an added bonus! Easy enough walk into town (just be careful of the traffic) and it’s an amazing area to visit. Highly recommend.

Accueil chaleureux par le propriétaire. Logement très agréable, fidèle à la description et aux photos. Décoré avec goût, bien agencé, et très qualitatif. Egalement bien équipé : à disposition serviettes (petites et grandes), gants, peignoirs pour la salle de bains ; dans la cuisine : café et thé, nombreux accessoires pour cuisiner. De la chambre, nous accédons au jacuzzi par la baie vitrée. TV dans le salon, dans la chambre et dans la pièce où se situe le jacuzzi. L'ambiance est très chaleureuse dans ce logement, on s'y sent bien. Propreté irréprochable. Petite terrasse avec plancha, table et coin salon de jardin. Malgré la proximité avec le propriétaire, nous avons chacun notre intimité. Lieu calme, à proximité de Sarlat. Flexibilité sur les horaires arrivée-départ. Propriétaire bienveillant, à l'écoute et très sympathique.

Nous avons passé 4 jours agréables dans ce logement qui a tout le potentiel pour devenir un cocon très chaleureux. L’appartement est bien aménagé, décoré avec soin, on sent qu’une attention particulière est apportée à plusieurs détails (nombreuses serviettes et tapis de bain, peignoirs, basiques dans la cuisine, thé et café à disposition etc). Le cadre est très agréable, calme et à proximité du centre de Carsac (2 min en voiture) où l’on trouve plusieurs commerces, et de Sarlat (15 min). Quelques équipements restent à optimiser cependant pour que le logement soit à la hauteur de l’annonce : la wifi était trop instable et ne permettait pas de travailler de façon satisfaisante ni d’utiliser une tablette ; la piscine était malheureusement inaccessible durant notre séjour ; et il aurait été agréable de pouvoir profiter du jacuzzi dès le premier soir (peut-être anticiper le temps de montée en température). Nous serions néanmoins prêts à revenir profiter de ce bel endroit ressourçant.

The Dordogne Valley is beautiful and invites you for walks, canoeing, and cultural visits to castles and medieval villages. There are many daily markets to visit, especially the Saturday market of Sarlat is very famous, but there are also the caves of Lascaux, Domme as the highest point of the valley, and of course the tourist towns of Rocamadour and La Roque Gageac

Tip from the expert

Tip: You can rent canoes just outside Cenac, to the left of the bridge over the Dordogne River. Take the distance of at least 12 km as it is downstream, and you will not get tired. But you will pass the most beautiful castles and riverside villages here. Bring a picnic, stop at a beach occasionally, and enjoy!!!
