About this holiday home

With its location slightly above the town of Lienz, on the Gaimberg, this unique mountain hut offers breathtaking views of the region. The Tyrolean décor with lots of wood creates a unique look. You can warm up by the warm wood-burning stove (plenty of firewood available) while going over your plans for the holiday day. Children play carefree in the enclosed garden, which is also equipped with a barbecue. Delightful! .

Due to the hut's central location, it is only 3 km to the valley station or mountain station of the Zettersfeldbahn. In a few minutes you can also reach the beautiful town of Lienz, which is always worth a visit. In summer, you can start wonderful hikes through the distinctive nature directly from the hut .

Charging an e-car at the accommodation is not possible and not allowed. Should you nevertheless charge your car illegally, the house owner/manager may, without discussion, hold you responsible for any damage and charge a fine

Die Sonnrasthütte begeisterte uns sofort. So wollten wir einen Alpenurlaubs erleben. Abgeschieden, ursprünglich. Die liebevoll dekorierte Einrichtung mit Antiquitäten und der gepflegte Garten gefielen uns sehr gut. Wir fühlten uns ins Leben unserer Großeltern zurück versetzt und genossen das Leben mit dem Kachelofen. Wir waren begeistert, dass dieser Ofen das ganze Haus beheizen konnte. Natürlich freuten wir uns auch über das Vorhandensein moderner Annehmlichkeiten wie Dusche und Geschirrspüler, die nachträglich integriert wurden. Vielleicht nicht für jedermann, für uns aber einfach herrlich.

die Hütte ist schön authentisch (ehrliche und einfache Bauernhütte) und gut zu erreichen (mit dem Auto), gemütlich durch den Ofen und hat alles da, was man braucht (Standard-Bettwäsche+Handtücher mitgebracht) direkt auf dem Berg gibt es gute Wandermöglichkeiten.

We provide you with enough wood for the large wood cooker and ask you to use the electric heaters sparingly. The wood stove provides a very cosy warmth.

Tip from the expert

Pure nature, if you don't need luxury and want to relax in peace for once, this is the place for you. You can watch deer and squirrels from the chalet, and if you don't want to cook, the nearest restaurant is not far away. A rustic chalet in a dreamlike location.
