Because of the central location between 2 famous ski areas you can reach the Zillertal Arena in about 12 minutes by car and the Wildkogel Arena in 7 minutes by car. The ski bus stop to both ski areas is 100 metres away. With a small surcharge you have both ski areas on 1 ski pass. Both ski areas are truly ideal for families with children. The more experienced skier will also enjoy the wide carving slopes, and beautiful day skiing through the high mountains of Hochkrimml via Königsleiten and Gerlos to Zell am Ziller. The real speedlovers can purchase the Salzburger Superskikarte which gives you access to 2700 km of slopes. Trips to the Kitzbühler Alpen (15 minutes) Kaprun, with its eternal glacier, Zell am See and the famous Saalbach-Hinterglemm are also well worthwhile.
Wald is also highly recommended in spring, summer or autumn. There are various fun excursions for all ages, such as a visit to the nearby, famous Krimmler waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Europe and the beautiful reservoir near Königsleiten.
